Academic Enrichment Programs

Preparing Students For College And Career Success

EAOP offers academic enrichment programs to cohort students: Pre-College Academy and EAOP Summer Sessions. Both of these programs offer students a chance to become stronger college applicants and to prepare for the academic rigors of the following school year and beyond.

Giving all students a shot at college

The Pre-College Academy (PCA) is a six-week summer academic enrichment program for students going into the 10th and 11th grades. PCA students are enrolled in two courses, one in a theme based college writing course and another in math. PCA also includes co-curricular activities that provide students with a chance to build community with other college bound students in the Bay Area.

EAOP partners with community colleges around the Bay Area to offer our 10th and 11th grade students the opportunity to enroll in spring courses. This will allow our students to build a competitive college application profile. In addition to the enrolled course, students will Saturday attend skill-building seminars focused on navigating college resources, financial literacy and honing professional development and networking skills to successfully transition to college. Students will select from a list of transferable courses that will appear on official transcripts to be reported on college applications.

EAOP partners with UC Berkeley Summer Sessions to offer students the opportunity to enroll in a six-week UC Berkeley course during the summer. EAOP students going into their senior year and who have a 3.5 GPA (weighted) or higher are eligible to apply. Past courses have included Anthropology, Computer Science, Environmental Earth Sciences, Ethnic Studies, African American Studies, and Greek & Roman Mythology.

This seminar will focus on the UC Application and will help prepare you to identify and begin to respond to the Personal Insight Questions.  If you are eligible to apply to a UC campus this Seminar is for you!  If you are considering applying to any college or scholarship that requires a written response, you may find this Seminar helpful. This multi-day event will consist of two webinars a day and all eligible participants will secure ongoing support through the end of July with developing their PIQ responses.
