Adviser Fellow - Hercules HS
B.A. American Studies – UC Berkeley
A LITTLE ABOUT ME
I was born and raised in Oakland, California. I am the middle child of 7 in my family, as well as the first person to earn a college degree. I graduated from McClymonds High School as a Cal Opportunity Scholarship recipient and Incentives Award Program recipient, which marked the beginning of my journey at UC Berkeley. At Berkeley, I found a passion for Urban Development and became an American Studies Major focusing on City Planning, Public Policy and Sociology. Through my participation in programs such as Berkeley Scholars to Cal, SPAAT, and being a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc. at UC Berkeley, I also developed an interest in education and promoting a college going culture in under resourced communities. I hope to continue my college advising work with high school students, and eventually navigate myself through the educational field and become a board member with the OUSD.
WHY I AM COMMITTED TO THIS WORK
I am committed to this work because growing up I always felt the need to help others and give back to those who are less fortunate. With that being said, I am truly passionate about helping students reach beyond their potential and become critical thinkers and leaders in every capacity.
I am a very spontaneous and adventurous person. For example I have been skydiving twice and would like to partake in more dangerous and risky activities. I'm also a huge RAIDERS and WARRIORS.
WORDS THAT GUIDE ME
Isaiah 54:17 - "No weapon that is formed against me shall prosper."
