A LITTLE ABOUT ME
I grew up in Dixon, CA (“Lamb Town USA”) and graduated from Dixon High School (Go Rams!). I come from a family of farm workers who spent our summers picking tomatoes in the heat of the Sacramento Valley. It was hard work. Growing up, college was not even a dream for me. I did not know about college until I went on a college field trip my junior year of high school, but I worked hard and made it to CSU, Sacramento. GO HORNETS!! Beat the Aggies!

WHY I AM COMMITTED TO THIS WORK
I knew I wanted to work with college access programs the moment someone told me I could go to college; it was in that instant that I found my life’s calling. I have worked with the Yolo and Solano County Migrant Education Programs, both of which have a special place in my heart and career, as I am a product of those programs. I was also involved in the Solano County Educational Consortium. It was extremely satisfying to work in the community I grew up in, especially since I got the chance to work with my old high school counselor and different agencies that believed in our efforts toward college access for all students. I continue to learn and grow as a professional while working for the Early Academic Outreach Program.

FUN FACT(S)
I don't like soup, raisins, grapes or bananas. I LOVE my family, friends, my job and Pozole!

WORDS I LIVE BY
"Real education should consist of drawing the goodness and the best out of our own students. What better books can there be than the book of humanity?"
- Cesar E. Chavez
